Slingshot

Acceptable Use Policy

dgNetrix Communications Inc., operating as Slingshot Telecom  ·  Version 1.0  ·  Effective 27 August 2026

Pro includes unmetered calling across the United States and Canada. That works because our plans are priced for businesses making business calls, and it stops working if the service is used as a wholesale minutes supply.

This policy names the difference. It is deliberately about patterns of use rather than a published minute cap, because a cap would punish the busy customer we want and barely inconvenience the one we do not.

1. What unmetered means

Unmetered calling is for ordinary business conversations made by the people on your account. There is no published minute limit and we do not bill domestic overage on Pro.

What we do instead is watch for the patterns below. If an account looks like one of them, we will contact you and talk about the right plan — or, where the use is prohibited outright, act on it.

2. Uses that are not permitted

You may not use Slingshot for:

3. How we identify a problem

We monitor for patterns, not conversations. The signals that draw attention include sustained per-user call volume far beyond a normal working day, very high proportions of extremely short calls, unusual concentrations of destinations, calling velocity that no human could produce, and registration behaviour suggesting shared or compromised credentials.

Reaching one of these does not mean you have done anything wrong. Most accounts that trigger a review are simply busy, or growing into a plan that suits them better. The first step is always a conversation.

4. Automatic protection

Some risks move faster than a human can. A compromised account can place thousands of calls overnight, and the cost falls on us and on the customer whose credentials were stolen.

We therefore apply automatic limits on calling velocity, with alerting and, where the pattern is severe, automatic suspension. If your account is suspended this way we will tell you immediately and restore it as soon as we have established what happened. We would rather stop a fraudulent account within the hour and apologise to an innocent one than send anybody a five-figure invoice.

5. Numbers and caller ID

Numbers we assign are for use with the service. You may not use a Slingshot number, or set caller ID to a number, that you do not have the right to use. Displaying a number you do not control in order to mislead the person receiving the call is unlawful in both countries we serve.

6. Recording

Recording a call is your decision and your responsibility. Consent rules differ by state and province, and some require every party to agree. Using Slingshot to record where you do not have the right to is a breach of this policy as well as of the law.

7. Messaging

Messaging is not yet available. When it is, it will be subject to carrier registration requirements and to additional rules that will be added here before the feature is switched on for any account.

8. What happens if this policy is breached

Depending on what we find, we may:

Where the situation allows it, we will talk to you first. Where it does not — fraud in progress, a compromised account, a legal obligation — we will act first and explain immediately afterwards.

9. Why this policy exists

Every customer on an unmetered plan is paying for the assumption that other customers are using it in good faith. This policy protects that assumption. It is not a hunt for reasons to bill you more, and there is no minute count in it that we can quietly move.

10. Questions

If you are unsure whether your intended use fits — and if you are planning something unusual, ask before you build on it — write to sales@slingshot.tel and we will tell you plainly. It is a much better conversation to have in advance.
