Running more than one business on one account
If you run more than one business with the same people, you do not need a second account. One account can hold a number for each business, and each number answers with its own greeting.
What it looks like
- A number for each business. Callers to each one hear that business's greeting and menu.
- One set of people underneath. Someone who works across two brands has one extension and one app, not two, and they are counted once on your bill.
- Separate menus, shared departments. Each business routes to its own options, and two businesses can still point at the same department when the same team answers both.
What you need
This needs Pro, because each business needs its own number and Starter includes one. Extra numbers are added from your Numbers page. See Adding a new number.
Starting simple
Most companies start with everything on one number and one greeting, then split a brand out when it is ready. Nothing has to be rebuilt when you do. You add the new number, point it at a new greeting, and move the people who answer it.
