Setting up your phone menu (IVR)
Your phone menu answers callers and routes them: "press 1 for sales, 2 for support."
| Plan | Your phone menu |
|---|---|
| Starter | One level, with as many options as you like. Every option can point at a person, a department, or voicemail, and you can set a different greeting for after hours. |
| Pro | Everything in Starter, plus menus inside menus, time-of-day and holiday routing, a dial-by-name directory, and custom greetings per branch. |
The simple rule: the moment one menu option opens another menu, that's Pro.
Greetings in another language
Record the greeting in whatever language you need and upload it. That works on any plan, and it is what customers running other-language lines do today. The greeting generator can also produce a French Canadian voice if you would rather not record one.
Want callers to choose their language? That needs Pro. "Press one for English, two for French" sends each caller to their own set of options, so the language choice is the first menu and the routing is the second. That is a menu opening another menu.
